Why I Built Trade Time

I spent years working in construction environments where labor and timing can make or break a job. The work itself was never the issue, but there was always one problem that never really went away. Finding reliable help on short notice.

You’d line up a crew for the week, and then last minute things would change. Someone wouldn’t show up, or you’d suddenly need more people than expected. Then you’re scrambling, calling around, texting people, trying to figure out who can actually step in and get to work right away.

Most of the time, it didn’t work out the way you needed. It was slow, unpredictable, and honestly just frustrating.

What made it worse was knowing there were plenty of skilled workers out there looking for consistent work. But there wasn’t a simple way to connect them with the businesses that actually needed them.

The gap wasn’t a lack of workers or a lack of jobs it was a lack of connection.

I looked into platforms that were supposed to solve this, but they either moved too slow or didn’t understand how job sites actually work. You don’t need a long hiring process, you need someone who can show up, be reliable, and get the job done.

So I built Trade Time.
